A Personal Message From Our Founder and CEO, Ms. Rosa M. Haynes

Life’s journey is uniquely different for each of us, and while some paths are easier to navigate, many are filled with unforeseen challenges. It’s often the case that individuals who are struggling don’t outwardly show it, enduring silently without support. Whether it’s financial, emotional, mental, or transitional resources, many people, especially vulnerable working families and individuals in difficult circumstances, find themselves at risk, overlooked by society's narrow definition of "needy."

As the Founder and CEO of S.O.A.R. Ministries and Transitional Services, Inc., I understand the experience of silently suffering. As a single mother and middle-class woman, I endured unforeseen life challenges that didn’t fit society's stereotype of someone "in need." My career in social services focused on at-risk young adults and vulnerable populations, didn’t provide the financial stability I desired. To the outside world, I didn’t appear to need help, but the criteria for receiving support didn’t accommodate my reality. This disconnect deeply saddens me because no one intentionally wants to be in a vulnerable position. As people, we should be willing to extend help, regardless of perceptions. I am blessed to have had the love and support of family and friends who stood by me during life’s toughest transitions. Their support helped me find my purpose and navigate through difficult times.

 

S.O.A.R. Ministries and Transitional Services, Inc. is the embodiment of that purpose. “S.O.A.R.” stands for “She Overcame and Restored.” It’s a testament to the belief that sometimes, you don’t receive the miracle you prayed for because you’re called to be the miracle for others. Our mission is to empower and assist those navigating challenging life transitions, making a difference in their lives when they need it most.
